Jean G. Achey
Jean G. Achey, 95 of Bethlehem passed away June 6, 2023 at the Hospice House of St. Luke’s in Bethlehem. She was the wife of Emerson G. Achey who passed in 1987.
Jean was born in Bethlehem on April 20, 1928, daughter of the late Elton G. and Pearl (Roth) Geissinger.
She was an Administrative Assistant at Western Electric retiring after 30 years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Jean was a lifelong member of Christ Church United Church of Christ in Bethlehem.
Jean devoted her time and talents to many LV organizations. She volunteered for the Miller Blood Center for over 30 years with 20,000 volunteer hours. She also volunteered at Musikfest, Celtic Classis, Christkindlemart, Miller Symphony Hall, Zoellner Arts Center, ArtsQuest and the State Theater in Easton.
She was a great example of true community service and what it means to give back to the place where you live. Jeans enjoyed traveling and going to the casino.
Survivors: Sister Doris Gearhart of Bethlehem, three stepsons, Richard Achey husband of Jean of Bethlehem, Edward Achey husband of Sandra of Easton and Eugene Achey husband of Karen of Treichlers; six step grandchildren Sharon-Kay Achey fiancé of Thomas Leaswitch, Shawn Achey, Michelle Vigiolto wife of Damon_, Adrianne Czonstka, Lisa Teague, Lori Campbell; five great-step-grandchildren Sean Klobosits, Zackery Czonstka, Tara Vigiolto, Allyssa Vigiolto and Emma Viogiolto. Predeceased by a step-daughter Nancy Lambert, step-grandson Keith Lambert and step-great-grandson Andy Czonstka.
Viewing and Service: Monday June 12, 2023, viewing 12 noon to 1 PM followed by the service at 1PM all at the Herron Funeral Home 458 Center Street Bethlehem, PA 18018. Entombment will be private at Grandview Mausoleum in Allentown.
