Richard J. Reinbold
Richard J. Reinbold, 84 of Hanover Twp. passed away on January 30, 2024 surrounded by his family at the Hospice House of St. Luke’s in Bethlehem. He was the husband of Patricia A. (Malloy) Reinbold for over 62 years.
Richard was born in Coaldale, PA on April 4, 1939, son of the late David W. and Anna Dorothy (Hudock) Reinbold.
He graduated from Coaldale High School in 1956 and in 1960 from Penn State with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Richard worked at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 40 years retiring in 2000 as a Senior Research Engineer. He also held a Professional Engineering License and was involved with several patents during his time at the Bethlehem Steel Corporation.
He was a life member of the former Church of the Manger where he was active in the Men of The Manger. When Church of The Manger closed, he became a member of St. Thomas UCC in Bethlehem.
Richard was an avid Penn State and Philadelphia Flyers fan. Over the years, he made numerous trips back to his alma mater to attend Penn State football and hockey games, sometimes even traveling to the occasional bowl game. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and was an expert cabinetmaker. He and Pat enjoyed family trips to Chincoteague, VA for the past 45 years. They also enjoyed vacations in Ontario, Canada Seeley’s Bay and Cranberry Lake. He traveled extensively for work visiting almost all of the US States, Canada and Europe.
Richard was a huge presence in our lives, a kind and gentle person, generous with his talents, who loved to tease and will be missed by all.
Survivors: His wife Patricia, son Eric Reinbold and wife Jennifer of Quakertown, daughters Suzanne Medence and husband Mark of Mountville, PA and Pamela Kopchak and husband Joseph of Bethlehem; brother David W. Reinbold of Bethlehem; six grandchildren Alison Medence, Kelly Baker and husband, Jonathan Kopchak, Jillian Kopchak, Colin Reinbold and Lindsay Reinbold.
Celebration of Life: Family and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life on Tuesday February 6, 2024 at 11:30AM with a luncheon to follow all at St. Thomas UCC 902 East Macada Road Bethlehem, PA 18017. The family requests for everyone to dress in casual attire. www.Herronfuneralhomes.com
