Johnie J. Vereen
Johnie J. Vereen, 75 of Bethlehem passed away at home surrounded by his family on February 26, 2024. He was the husband of the late Freda L. Vereen.
Johnie was born in Nichols South Carolina on November 5, 1948 son of the late Johnnie and Alma (Carmichael) Vereen. Johnie was educated in the Marion County School District in South Carolina. He was predeceased by a sister Jean C. Flowers.
Johnie served in the Air Force during Vietnam. He was a Veteran Firefighter. Johnie was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan as well as a Duke fan. He loved his oldies music and singing loudly and dancing with his family.
He leaves to cherish his memory a son Johnnie J. Vereen Jr. of Bethlehem, daughters Tamara L. Denby and her husband Arnett of Bethlehem, Kimberley M. Vereen of Bethlehem. Companion Nereida “Netty” Claudio for over 15 years, and her daughters, Alyssa Acevedo and Vanessa Acevedo Sister Estella Lee- Harrell of Nichols, South Carolina, Grandchildren Ashleigh, Timia, Arnett Jr., Erin, Derrick. He also leaves to cherish his memory a nephew Ronald Flowers, nieces Sandra Vereen, Stephanie Flowers, Maria Robinson, Yolanda Flowers, mother -in-law Ruby Leatherberry, sister-in-laws Deborah Brooks and Vicky Lymon, brother-in-laws Robert Leatherberry and Duane Leatherberry, and a host of other nieces, nephews and bonus children and grandchildren.
Viewing & Funeral Service: Saturday March 2, 2024 Viewing 9AM to 11AM followed by a service at 11AM all at the Herron Funeral Home 458 Center At Market Streets Bethlehem, PA 18018.
