Mafalda R. “Muffy” Csala, 98 of Bethlehem passed away on December 7, 2024 at the Miller Assisted Living Facility at Phoebe of Allentown. She received wonderful care there and was treated like family by the entire staff.  She was the wife of the late Alex Csala for 61 years until his passing on June 7, 2008.

Mafalda was born in Bethlehem on January 20, 1926 daughter of the late Marino and Josephine (Bastianelli) Rosati.

Muffy was a waitress at Lehigh University for over 50 years retiring at the age of 81.  She loved Lehigh University, especially the student athletes. She also took great joy in seeing that the Philadelphia Eagles staff and families were well taken care of when they were still holding their Summer Training Camps on the Goodman campus.  During her career she also met and befriended many dignitaries including Lee Iacocca, Donald Trump and his family, Shirley Temple Black, Howard Stern and Desmond Tutu.  She had the privilege of working closely with past Presidents of Lehigh University namely Peter Likins and Gregory C. Farrington.

She had a great 98 years and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors:  son Alexander J. Csala husband of Wendi of Salisbury Twp, daughters Sandra Falatek wife of Francis of Windermere, FL  and Beverly Boger wife of Durrell of Bethlehem, on grandson Justin R. Falatek of Cocoa Beach, FL, sister Gloria Grube of Birmingham, AL.  Predeceased by siblings Raymond, Gene, Adam, Marino, Mary, Anna, Jenny and Bernadette.

Viewing  & Funeral Mass: Thursday December 12, 2024 from 9AM to 10:15AM in the Herron Funeral Home 458 Center At Market Streets in Bethlehem. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Anne Catholic Church 450 Washington Avenue Bethlehem, PA. Entombment in the Mausoleum at Holy Saviour Cemetery in Bethlehem.
