Nina S. Ware
Nina S. Ware, 78 of Bethlehem passed away on June 5, 2025 surrounded by her family at the Hospice House of St. Luke’s in Bethlehem. She was the widow of the late Alan C. Ware.
Nina was born in Chester, PA on May 19, 1947, daughter of the late M. John and Katherine C. (Chiadis) Skidas.
She graduated from Liberty high School in 1965 and from Moravian College in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts, Major in English with a Minor in French. She taught high school English and Spanish in Massachusetts after graduation from Moravian.
She was the Programing Manager for WLVT-TV Channel 39 for many years. She wrote the music questions for Scholastic Scrimmage, except for occasions where her son Christopher was competing with the Liberty High School team.
Nina sang with the Bach choir for 17 years and one of her fondest memory was of their 1976 tour of Germany
Nina was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem. She was the Godmother to John and Matthew Nicrone, as well as Natalia Modesto and Jonah and Nora Nicrone.
Nina will be remembered as a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Godmother, Cousin and dear friend. Her apartment on West Third Street, and her house on Raymond Avenue, both in Bethlehem, was the happy and lively gathering place for many family and friends over the years. Her home was always filled with music and love.
Survivors: Son Dr. Christopher J. Ware (Jennifer) of Penn Valley, PA,; grandchildren Jonathan, Gabriel and Catherine; sister Joan Nicrone of Florence, SC and her children Jennifer, John and Matthew (Jessie); sister in law Debora Behrens and her children Kristie Behrens (Joe Wargo) and Jackie Bayer (Mike), brother in law Steven Ware. Predeceased by brothers in law Russell Nicrone and Karl Behrens.
Viewing & Funeral Service: Tuesday June 17, 2025, viewing 10AM to 11AM followed by the Funeral Service at 11AM all at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral 1607 West Union Blvd. Bethlehem, PA 18018.
