Louis J. Caciolo
Louis J. Caciolo, Sr. 86 of Whitehall passed away Friday, March 2, 2018. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth M. (Kennedy) Caciolo.
Born in Allentown, PA son of the late Frank Caciolo and Mamie (Nunnemacher) Rabenold.
“Louie” worked for his family owned South End Shoe repair business on Saint John Street in Allentown.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War on the USS Hornet CV12. He received an Honorable discharge on April 29, 1955.
He served as a committeeman for the Republican Party for South Allentown District, was a Boy Scout Leader and committeeman for Allentown Troop 85 Minsi Trail Council and coached little league baseball for Mountainville Memorial.
He worked for the Bethlehem Steel Company for over 20 years be fore retiring. He lived at the Whitehall Manor for 17 years and was affectionately known as “The Mayor.”
Survivors: Sister Carol Diehl wife of Richard; step-sister Della Kern; sons: Robert E. Caciolo of Austell, GA, Frederick J. Caciolo husband of Cindi of Macungie, Gregory F. Caciolo husband of Robin of Quakertown; daughter Christina M. (Caciolo) Shaffer wife of Arthur of Pottstown; step-daughter Bobbi Stauffer; step son Guy Stauffer; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by stepmother Evelyn Caciolo and a son Louis J. Caciolo, Jr.
Service: There will be a viewing on Thursday from 7PM to 9 PM and Friday from 9AM to 10AM followed by the Funeral Service at 10 AM in the Sell-Herron Funeral Home 1145 Lehigh Street Allentown. Burial, Our Lady of Mt Carmel Cemetery.
