On Monday, February 17, 2025, Catherine Chaconas, 97, our beloved “Thea Nini” passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Catherine was born in the Bronx, New York in 1927, the daughter of the late George Chaconas and Stella Triantafilopoulos, and was the second youngest of six children.

Catherine worked for  Equitable/Cigna Life Insurance Data Center in New York and later in Easton retiring after forty years, receiving numerous awards and recognition for her dedicated service. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting and creating beautiful clothing and blankets for her friends and loved ones.

She was a devoted member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Catherine was an active member of the Senior Citizens of the Cathedral.

Catherine was predeceased by her sisters, Celia Lengares, Evangeline Argeros, Anna Georges, and her brothers, Alex Chaconas and Peter Chaconas.

Her warmth and wonderful sense of humor was legendary. Her deep love of family reflected her kind and nurturing spirit. She will be dearly missed.

She is survived by many nephews and nieces.

Viewing and  Funeral on Wednesday February 26, 2025, viewing 10AM to 11AM followed by the Funereal at 11AM  all at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem.  Burial to follow in Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery. Funeral arrangements by the Herron Funeral Home in Bethlehem. www.Herronfuneralhomes.com
