Concepcion “Connie” Saldana
Our beloved mother, Concepcion Saldana “Connie“ passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Victor M. Acevedo Jr.
She was born into a family of 10 brothers and sisters in Utuado, Puerto Rico, but lived most of her adult life in New Jersey and then Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of the late Juan and Maria (Perez) Saldana.
Connie was a licensed practical nurse who worked for many years at the Veterans Hospital in Lyons, New Jersey.
Connie was a devoted mother to her daughters, Lisa M. Walther, Debbie L. Walther, Jennifer M. Baxter, wife of Ian and Barbara F. Dias, wife of Joshua. Her pride and joy were her nine grandchildren, Ramon, William, John Dylan, Jameson, Isabella, Max, Joshie, Eva, Lola, and her two great-granddaughters, Mariah and Gabriella. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her daughters and grandchildren; she loved spoiling them. They loved and adored their “Ata,” “Mama,” and she will be sorely missed.
As the matriarch of the family, she taught us resilience, independence, and most importantly, an unwavering love for family.
