David O. Gerber, 70, of Bethlehem died on Friday September 27, 2019 at home.

David was born in Coaldale, PA on January 25, 1949 son of the late Richard and Ursil (Herring) Gerber.

David graduated from Liberty High School in 1966.

He was a Police Officer for the City of Bethlehem for 25 years, retiring in 2002.

David was a life member of the Jefferson Democratic Club in Bethlehem.  He was life-long blood donor at the Miller–Keystone Blood Center in Bethlehem. David was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Survivors:  Wife Bonnie (Riegel) Gerber of Bethlehem, daughter Amanda Kovalchick wife of Jonathan of Bethlehem, son Jonathan Gerber husband of Abby of Corona, CA; four grandchildren Dylan, Layne and Olyvia Kovalchick and Hazel Gerber; brothers Richard Gerber husband of Rita of Modus, CT and Bruce Gerber and his friend Brenda of Richmond, VA; many nieces and nephews.   Predeceased by brothers Daniel Gerber in 2005 and Douglas Gerber in 2007.

Service:  Memorial Service on Tuesday October 1, 2019 at 2 PM, with a calling hour from 1PM-2PM in St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church Main Street and Washington Avenue in Bethlehem.
