Dolores H. Nickel
Dolores H. Nickel, 88, of Bethlehem, and formerly Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday, April 18, at Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth.
Dolores was a devoted member of the Lehigh Valley Catholic community, both as a parishioner of St. Simon and Jude Church and Director of Religious Education for several local parishes over the years. She was the youngest female operator supervisor hired at the local Bell Telephone Company in Wilkes-Barre prior to relocating to Bethlehem with her husband, Francis.
She was very generous with her time and her resources to her family and all who were close to her. You could always count on Dolores for a highly organized and entertaining theme party, which she hosted often at her home. She was an avid swimmer and spent many happy hours poolside with her family and friends.

Nickel and his wife Virginia Hadam of Bethlehem; brother Leonard Hogrebe of Lebanon, NJ; sister Geraldine Maley and husband Bill of Wilkes-Barre; 3 grandchildren, Kiera Lichtenwalner, Lauren Cunerd, and Brian Santly; and 7 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband of almost 50 years Francis R. Nickel and her daughter Susan Santly Lazaro.
