Dr. Benjamin Deratzou, 62 of Center Valley passed away on November 24, 2023.  He was the devoted husband of Beth Ann (Homa) Deratzou and they were married for 27 years.  His most cherished role was as father to his twins, Luke and Mark Deratzou.

Ben was born in Drexel Hill on September 19, 1961, son of Gary and Mary (Kezerian) Deratzou.

Ben graduated from Haverford High School in 1979 and the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Science in 1983.  He obtained his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 1988.

Ben was an anesthesiologist who provided excellent care in a number of health care systems, most recently working  with Society Hill Anesthesia Consultants, primarily as the anesthesia chief at Wills Eye Bucks.

Outside of his professional life, Ben spent his time traveling with his family, working on fun projects with his sons and enjoying time in Ocean City, NJ.  He was a self-taught “tech guy” who enjoyed computers, media, music and helping others with their technical challenges.

Ben was a Porsche enthusiast and enjoyed taking his car on the track.  He also cherished his time with his dog, Sasha.

Ben was a loyal friend to many and will be missed by all.

Survivors:  His wife, Beth and sons, Luke and Mark and dog Sasha; sister, Dr. Susan Deratzou; in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Deratzou and Gary Deratzou and sister Maritza Deratzou.

Visitation: Sunday December 3, 2023 from 10AM to 11AM followed by a time of remembrance at 11AM all at the Herron Funeral Home, 458 Center St., Bethlehem PA 18018.  Burial  Nisky Hill Cemetery in Bethlehem.  www.herronfuneralhome.com
