John G. Kalfas, 87 of Whitehall died on December 20, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Allentown.   Husband of Margaret M. (Leanch) Kalfas, they were married 65 years on August 25^th.

John was born in Allentown on July 10, 1929, daughter of the late   George J. and Constance (Brussaly) Kalfas.

He was the manager of the Superior Restaurant in Allentown, which was owned by his father and located across from Hess Brothers on Hamilton Street in Allentown. Later he was an Insurance Agent for American General and MetLife Insurance Companies before he retired.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem. He was a member of the Order of AHEPA, Lehigh Chapter #60 in Allentown.

Survivors: His wife Margaret, daughter Constance E. Salvino wife of Thomas of Southampton, NJ; three sons George J. Kalfas husband of Shelley of Valrico, FL, Nicholas J. Kalfas husband of Susan of Bethlehem and John G. Kalfas, Jr. husband of Jane of Melbourne, Australia; 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his sister Pauline.

Service: Funeral Service on Tuesday December 27, 2016 at 11 AM in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral 1607 W. Union Blvd. in Bethlehem. There will be a viewing from 10 AM to 11 AM in the Cathedral. Funeral arrangements are by the John F. Herron Funeral Home in Bethlehem.
