Konstantinos “Kostas” Hristofas
Konstantinos “Kostas” Hristofas, 73, of Whitehall, PA reposed in the Lord on the feast of St. Paraskevi, July 26, 2024.
He was the loving husband of Elli Hristofas, to whom he had been married for 40 years. The loves of his life were his family, his Orthodox Christian faith, and his Greek heritage. Kostas was born in the village of Filia on the Greek island of Lesvos, the son of the late Eleftherios and Ourania (Marmarou) Hristofas. After serving in the Greek army, Kostas lived a short time in the United States, during which he attended Lehigh County Community College and was naturalized an American citizen. He married in Athens, Greece, and later permanently immigrated to the United States with his wife and two sons, settling in Allentown. He worked his entire career as a chemical laboratory technician for Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. He also devoted his time to the community of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bethlehem, PA, serving on the parish council for nearly 30 years, as the community’s treasurer for 10 years, and cooking for various church events and the semi-annual Greek food festivals.
Survivors: wife Elli, sons Eleftherios (Panayiota) of Lancaster and Panagiotis (Alisha) of Easton, siblings Michael (Dan) of Germany and Virginia (Alexandros) Nikolaidis of New Jersey, grandchildren Konstantinos, Nicholas, Dionysios, Elizabeth, Eirene, and Daphne, as well as nieces, nephews, sister-in-law Mary Ann ( Tatalias) Hristofas of Allentown and extended family. Predeceased by his brother, Hristoforos “Chris” Hristofas.
Services: Tuesday July 30, 2024 at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral 1607 W. Union Blvd, Bethlehem, PA, viewing at 10:00am followed by funeral service at 11:00am. Burial in Cedar Hill Memorial Park in Allentown. For those unable to attend the funeral, the service will be live streamed on the parish’s YouTube channel, www.stnicholas.org/hristofasfuneral
