Robert C. “Bob” Bauder
Robert C. “Bob” Bauder, 92, a life-long resident of Bethlehem, died on Friday, September 25, 2020 at Alexandria Manor. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne to whom he was married for 52 years.
Bob was born in Bethlehem on May 20, 1928 to Clarence and Dorothea (Eberman) Bauder. He had three brothers (Burton, Edward, and Neil) and one sister (Mary Santoro) all of whom preceded him in death. He graduated from Liberty High School and served in the US Army during World War II where he was stationed in Japan for two years. He delivered a variety of good and services to countless customers over the years, everything from Sealtest ice cream to household items from Hess Brothers Department Store where after more than 30 years. He received numerous Safe Driver Awards during his employment with Hess Brothers. In his retirement he was employed by the Saucon Valley Country Club where he was a loyal and much beloved employee.
Bob was an active member of Bethany United Church of Christ where he sang on the choir and served on various committees for a number of years. He and his wife were faithful volunteers with Bethany’s Soup Kitchen.
Survivors include three nieces: Jane Reinecke (Wally) of Guilford, CT, Connie Kauffman of Pottstown, PA., and Wendy Lukehart (Peter) of Takoma Park, MD and one nephew, Doug Bauder (Marty Siegel) of Bloomington, IN, as well as next door neighbors and friends of many years Shawn and Michele with whom he would regularly cheer on the Phillies and the Eagles.
VISITATION: Calling on Friday October 16, 2020 from 1-1:30PM at the Herron Funeral Home 458 Center Street Bethlehem.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Graveside Memorial Service with Military Honors to follow at 2PM in Nisky in Bethlehem.
