Robert M. Pauls
Robert M. Pauls
Bob Pauls, 54, of Allentown, passed away on December 2, 2023. He was the loving companion of his dear friend, Kim Clark for nearly three years. His most cherished role was as father to his beloved daughter, Ashley Paige Pauls.
Bob was born in Allentown on December 4, 1968, son of the late Robert J. and Mary L. (Getz) Pauls.
Bob graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1987. After high school, he sought employment in the health care field. Some of the positions he held were patient escort at Lehigh Valley Hospital, nurse’s aide and medical specimen courier. Eventually, he made his way to the position of Regional Sales Manager for Health Care Service Corporation.
Beyond his professional life, Bobby was driven by a zest for exploration and adventure. He sought out unique and sometimes zany outlets for his kinetic creative energy. He enjoyed making new food dishes to bring to holiday gatherings, all manner of photography and video creation, especially with his muse and mother, Mary L. Pauls, and bringing to life memorable characters such as Pony Boy, who liked to interact with bewildered passersby at some of Bobby’s favorite locales.
Bobby’s passion to seek out ways to break his own conventions led him to hike down the Grand Canyon and back up to the top on the same day. Of this feat, he stated: “I started off as a wide-eyed optimist, with a dream and a plan. I was told I cannot complete this mission in one day, but I set out to prove them wrong.”
Bobby’s life changed dramatically when his daughter, Ashley, was born. She was the light and love of his life and vice versa. As Ashley wrote for an AP Psychology assignment in 9th grade: “My dad…was always there for me and was the funniest man in the world…he would always cook me the best dinners, spoil me by letting me get cookies at the grocery store, and taking me to all kinds of different amusement parks and playgrounds. He was my hero, and always will be.”
Bobby loved being by the sea, especially spending time on his treasured Chincoteague Island, VA. He also loved animals of all kinds, and being “father” to Apollo, Rocky and Ava.
Bobby Pauls was a funny, creative, inventive, daring and loving father, brother, friend, and son to so many and will be missed by all.
Bob leaves behind many who loved him: his sisters Michelle, Gretchen, Kara, Adrienne, his brother, Steven, dear friends, Kim and Tracey (Ashley’s mother) and his nieces and nephews, Katrina, Oskar, Felicity, Ivand, Hayden, Jonah, Dario, Chloe, Asher, Crede, Astrid and Apirida.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Ashley Paige Pauls, and his parents, Mary L (Getz) Pauls and Robert J Pauls.
