Ronald E. Lehr
Ronald E. Lehr, 73 of Allentown died on March 6, 2018 at The Lutheran Home in Topton. Husband of Frances A. (Kingston) Lehr, they were married 45 years on September 23rd.
Ronald was born in Allentown on January 18, 1945, son of the late Franklin and Ida (Beers) Lehr.
Ronald served in the US Army as an E4 in the 403rd Transportation Detachment unit during the Vietnam War.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Allentown.
Ronald was a Warehouse Supervisor at Central Plumbing and Air Engineer Inc. for many years.
Ronald was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He was President of the Trout Creek Fish and Game Club for several years. Ron organized annual fishing tournaments for fisherman all over the state and held a special place in his heart for the handicapped children who came to fish. He helped to stock the surrounding streams and rivers volunteering for the Lil Lehigh Trout Hatchery. Ronald was one of the Original 8 Hunting Club founding members, to which his son and grandson carry on his legacy. He was a volunteer for the Allentown Fire Police. Ronald served for 38 years with the Allentown Fire Police and has been recognized as the only individual to have served 30 consecutive years with 100 plus volunteer hours annually.
Ronald “is” a Life Member of the Fearless Fire Company #14 Social Hall. He began working there at the age of 10 when his grandparents would take him to help clean dishes after events. Later, he served as a bartender, volunteer, custodian and also bowled in the Fearless “A” League. He was a hard worker and taught his children to have a strong work ethic; he and his son delivered papers for the Morning Call for more than 10 years carrying for 2 routes. He would shovel walkways for the aging and had a Heart of Gold towards his family, friends and anyone who was in need.
Survivors: His wife Frances, son Daniel R. Lehr husband of Jessica of Downingtown; daughters Dianne Gorostiza (nee: Piskula) wife of Dionisio of San Antonio, Texas and Anita Capparuccini (nee: Piskula) of Allentown; six grandchildren Dominic, Sarah, Anthony, Jared, Joshua and Kate; sisters Peggy Sommer wife of Edward of Coplay and Judith Potoczny wife of Alexander of Sellersville.

Service: There will be a viewing on Sunday March 11, 2018 from 6 PM to 8 PM in the Sell-Herron Funeral Home 1145 Lehigh Street Allentown. Funeral Service on Monday March 12, 2018 at 11AM, with a viewing from 10AM to 11AM in Christ Lutheran Church 1245 W. Hamilton Street Allentown. Burial with Military Honors at St. Mark’s Cemetery in Allentown.
