Ronald H. Bray
Ronald H. Bray, 72 of Bethlehem passed away on May 30, 2024 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg. He was the devoted husband of Carol J. (Fluck) Bray for 47 years until her passing on January 27, 2018.
Ron was born in Allentown on December 26, 1951 son of the late Reuel and Shirley (Llewellyn) Bray.
He worked at the Bethlehem Steel Company retiring after 30 years. Having always wanted to know what it was like to work an Open, after retirement from Bethlehem Steel, he worked on the grounds crew at Saucon Valley Country Club for 5 years- working the US Senior Open in 2000. He maintained many friendships from his years spent there. After leaving SVCC, he worked for the PLCB at all the Wine and Spirits Shops in Northampton County, primarily in Bath and Northampton Crossings. He retired in 2014 to care for his wife.
Ron enjoyed metal detecting, restoring electro-mechanical pinball machines, antique and flea markets, and digging old bottles. He loved both collecting and reselling and had an eclectic collection. He was a member of the Forks of the Delaware Bottle Collecting Club and a past member of the Lehigh Valley Treasure Club.
Survivors: Daughters Christie B. Burns, of Lake Jackson, Texas and Julie M. Waller, wife of Jay of Salisbury, MD; three grandchildren Megan Waller, Claire and Hayden Burns; sister Dianne Schwartz wife of David of Emmaus. Longtime friend and companion Kate (Bartholomew) Ruch.
