Shirley A. Scheidler
Shirley A. Scheidler, 88, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2025, in her home surrounded by the love of her family. She was the wife of the late Richard Scheidler who passed in 2018.
Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late George and Althea (Kauffman) Attrill. Her family was the passion of her life, and her many friends and activities in tennis, bowling and golf along with her work in the club house were key to the happiness and joy she shared with everyone.
She was a woman who embodied the very best of humanity. She never spoke an ill word about anyone, never used abusive or foul language and seldom if ever complained about anything. To know her was to know a great friend and listener with a generous soul that lifted everyone around her without ever seeking praise. Hers was a spirit so pure that it seemed to have already achieved what the great faiths of the world aspire to teach—love, compassion, and an unwavering respect for all.
As we say goodbye, we do not mourn a loss so much as we honor legacy. She lives on in every act of kindness we perform, every moment we choose love over judgment, every time we listen as she did—with patience and care. She was a saint not by title, but by deed, and her memory will forever be a blessing to us all. If love is the currency of Heaven, she arrives there with a large heart packed full of riches.
Rest in peace, beautiful mother, grandmother, sister, friend. You were loved beyond measure, and you will be missed beyond words. But your light, your incredible, gentle, powerful light—will shine in us forever.
Shirley is survived by daughter Susan and friend Barney (Saint Barney), son Richard and wife Lynda, sister Linda, grandchildren Tanya and fiancé Kevin, Todd and friend Erica, and great grandchildren Ayden, Trystyn, Austyn, Morgan and Alyssa. She was pre-deceased by husband Richard, brother George and grandson Justin.
