Theodore Psitos
Theodore Psitos passed away peacefully on March 31st, 2024, surrounded by his loving wife, children and grandchildren. Theodore “Teddy” was born in Greece in 1937 to George and Elenie. Following the untimely passing of his mother, his grandmother Katerina played a significant role in his upbringing. He later immigrated to the United States during his late teens, where he found success in the restaurant business working alongside his uncles Alex, Nick, and John.
After marrying his wife Vaso in Athens, Greece, he returned to the US to fulfill his ambition of owning a restaurant. With his partners Gus and Tony, he established The Cross Timber Inn, marking the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey.
Teddy remained a faithful member of the Greek Orthodox Annunciation Church of Easton, where he served as a council member and actively engaged in his duties.
Despite the demands of his business, Teddy consistently prioritized his family. He showered his wife with love and attention, celebrating fifty-five years of marriage, supported his children’s aspirations, celebrated their achievements, and cherished his role as a proud grandfather to his grandchildren. His affection extended to all his cousins, nieces and nephews, fostering strong family bonds. Upon retiring from the restaurant industry, he took full advantage of the opportunity to visit his homeland as frequently as possible.
He was an exceptional individual, brimming with humor, charisma, fervor, faith, and resilience. He was cherished not only by his patrons and community but also by his friends, and above all, by his family.
Teddy is lovingly remembered by his wife Vaso, his children Elenie Hahalis and her husband Dimitri, Magda Tantaros and her husband Dean, Katherine Psitos, George Psitos and his wife Jaclynn, and his eight grandchildren Nicholas, Theodora, Evangelos, Andreas, Vasilis, Alexia, Olympia and Emmeleia.
