Dorothy S. “Dot” Townsend, 87 of Bethlehem died on January 3, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Fountain Hill. The wife of Edward S. Townsend, they were married on October 14, 1949 and recently celebrated their 68 years wedding anniversary.

Dot was born in Kingston, PA on December 24, 1930 daughter of the late Cora (Newhard) Brown Hay.

She worked at Sarco Manufacturing for 30 years. Dot was a long time member of The Church at Hemlock Farms and a former member of Christ Church UCC in Bethlehem.

Dot loved her husband Ed, her sons and her grandchildren.

Survivors: Husband Ed, sons Edward S. Townsend, Jr., husband of Dr. Gail Mrowinski and Craig Townsend, husband of Julia; grandchildren Aaron, Joe, Samantha and Jacqueline; brother Elmer, Dale and Edward. Predeceased by her brothers Richard, Donald and James.

Service: There will be a viewing on Wednesday January 10^th from 10AM to 11AM followed by a service at 11 AM in the John F. Herron Funeral Home 458 Center At Market Street, Bethlehem. Burial in Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery.
