James Kritis
James Kritis, 78 of Bethlehem died on May 12, 2018 of natural causes.
Jim was born in Allentown, PA on December 9, 1939 to the late George and Mary (Neos) Kritis. He graduated from Moravian College in 1961 with a BA in History. While at Moravian he was a natural athlete, playing football and basketball. Jim went on to be an assistant football coach at Moravian and was later inducted in the Moravian College Hall of Fame. He was a Bethlehem school teacher, first at Liberty High School and then at Freedom High School and retired after 38 years of teaching.
Jim was an exceptional golfer, involved with local politics in the Lehigh Valley community and dedicated to animal rescue.
Survivors: His daughter Kara J. Kritis of Florence, MA, two granddaughters Chloe Harper and Hannah Harper; sisters Angela Kritis and Anna Kritis both of Fogelsville; and former wife Virginia (Martin) Illick of Coopersburg. He was predeceased by his brother Anthony Kritis.
Service: There will be a calling from 6PM to 8PM on Friday May 18, 2018 at the John F. Herron Funeral Home 458 Center at Market Street Bethlehem.
Graveside service on Saturday May 19, 2018 at 10:30 AM in Cedar Hill Memorial Park Cemetery (Sec. G.) Allentown.
