Eleanor S. Libsch
Eleanor Say Libsch, age 99, residing in Boca Raton, Florida died 6 PM December 30, 2018.
Eleanor was the daughter of William Say and Edith (Little) Say of Rockville, CT. She was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Mount Holyoke College, and received a master’s degree in Education from Lehigh University. She taught third grade in Bethlehem, PA public schools. She married Dr Joseph Libsch who became Chairman of the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and later Vice President for Research at Lehigh University as well as President of the American Society for Metals.
Mrs. Libsch was the mother of three sons, Karl (Barbara), Lawrence (Sue) and Tom (Peggy). She was predeceased by her husband, her brother, Gordon, and her son, Tom. She leaves five grandchildren, Kirsten (Ben) Parolini, Karen (Tom Miller) Libsch, Mary (Chris) Spagnola, Mike (Ellen Poggi) Libsch and Jason (Terri Loewenthal) Libsch as well as seven great grandchildren.
Eleanor was the first young woman in her small town to own a bicycle. She was strong, smart, and loving. She is fondly remembered by family, friends and students.
